"I love love love my Athena Pocket Rocket vibrator, but the fact that I use it so often has taken its toll. The other night, I actually BROKE my Pocket Rocket. If you're like me, and push it against yourself often, it shakes the insides in such a way that its hard to get the rocket to stay on at all times. "First Impressions: You don't need to work for NASA to operate this rocket. Although a degree in opening packages might come in handy! Once I finally wrestled it free from it's packaging, I was greeted by something resembling a tube of lipstick. Also included were three plastic caps that fit over the end of the Rocket.

Solo play: Despite its size this Rocket packs a powerful punch. Not quite enough to send me to another planet but I was surprised at just how much juice this baby delivered. The main disadvantage I found was it sounded like a beard trimmer and also the vibrations traveled along the entire shaft of the toy and up to my wrists. At first I found both disconcerting and distracting but I soldiered on like a good astronaut and soon forgot about both.
I did find that a little lube was a definite must with this toy, as the vibrations were pretty intense on first contact. It will sure send you into orbit but not the type we are trying to achieve. I found concentrating the vibrations around other areas, such as my pelvic bone and outer lips much more pleasing but that's just me. For me the attachment with no knobbles worked best, the others were really just too intense, sensation wise. Not that that's a bad thing and for many women that would work wonderfully.
Partner play. My research assistant [formally known as my Hubby] wasn't particularly impressed with the Rocket or its vibrations. He found them a little too intense and distracting when we tried it. He also complained about the noise it made, something I discovered could be dulled a little by placing a small sliver of paper between the casing and the battery. Now this is a man who's not afraid to try new things or toys but he really wasn't keen on this one. Nothing I tried convinced him, and it wasn't helped when I placed the rocket on the bed and it decided to slither across the bed like an extra terrestrial on a collision course with earth. It did make for a lot of laughs though which isn't such a bad thing in the bedroom. It also goes to show just how powerful this little toy was.
